Hey hon, I'm Julie, a Craniosacral Therapist, Somatic Practitioner, and Integrative Health Coach.

My passion is supporting women through every season of motherhood in breaking free from the physical, emotional, biochemical, and relational patterns that keep them stuck in cycles of stress, pain, and overwhelm. I also offer specialized craniosacral and lactation care for moms and newborns.

Through gentle hands-on craniosacral therapy, targeted nutrition, nervous system support, and relationship work, I help you understand what your body—and your life—are asking of you. Because healing isn’t about managing symptoms or fixing one piece at a time. It requires integration and discernment.

My work is rooted in lived experience. I know what it’s like to feel dismissed by doctors, to be told it’s all in your head, and to chase every supplement and modality hoping for relief. I’ve walked through burnout, PMDD, hormonal chaos, and emotional dysregulation. What changed my life—and what I see change my clients’ lives—isn’t any single tool. It’s understanding how all the pieces fit together.

And at the foundation of my work is faith. I believe God created the body with extraordinary wisdom and that science, physiology, prayer, and discernment don't have to exist in separate worlds.

This is whole-person healing: caring for the body, mind, relationships, and faith that shape how you experience your life.

about me

Your body holds the wisdom. I help you listen.

~Julie Pokorny

Years ago, I was doing everything I thought I was supposed to do—checking all the boxes of a “healthy” lifestyle, trying every modality, supplement, and strategy to fix what felt broken inside me. But no matter what I tried, nothing seemed to land. My emotions were unpredictable, my body felt foreign, and I was constantly cycling between hope and burnout.

I had PMDD that made me feel unrecognizable half the month. I carried trauma I couldn’t name, lived in a hypermobile body that never felt grounded, and dealt with relentless blood sugar crashes, hormonal chaos, and deep emotional overwhelm.

The turning point came when I stopped outsourcing my healing and started listening—to my body, to God, and to the wisdom He built into our physiology. When I stopped trying to fix myself in pieces and began integrating the biochemical, emotional, and spiritual parts of my being, everything changed.

I lost nearly 40 pounds. My cycle regulated - 24 days to 28 days. I began to feel emotionally stable, hormonally balanced, and deeply present for the first time in my adult life.

But more than the physical shifts, I returned to myself. I stopped apologizing for my sensitivity. I stopped silencing my instincts. And I stopped treating my body like a problem to solve.

Now, everything I offer is born from that transformation. Because I know what it’s like to feel lost inside your own skin—and I know how powerful it is to come home to yourself.

Read More About My Journey

Chronic stress, anxiety, or burnout are signs of a nervous system stuck in survival mode. Through gentle craniosacral therapy and somatic techniques, the brain and body learn to unwind stored tension, balance the vagus nerve, and reestablish calm, focus, and mental clarity.

Mind

Healing is more than physical. Throughout the Gospels, Jesus points to faith as part of healing. Through prayer and Christ-centered care, we orient toward God’s goodness, His ability to heal, and His desire for us to live fully and abundantly—inviting Him into the healing of mind, body, and spirit.

Fatigue, hormone imbalance, infertility, or digestive issues often stem from deeper metabolic stress. Using functional nutrition, integrative health coaching, we support hormone rhythm, metabolism, detoxification, and cellular repair — rebuilding resilience from the inside out.

"You can’t out-supplement or out-eat a nervous system stuck in survival mode — and you can’t out-meditate dysfunctional biochemistry."

Charm City Craniosacral and Julie Pokorny do not diagnose, treat, or prescribe for any medical condition or disease. Services offered — including craniosacral therapy, somatic work, integrative health coaching, and lactation consulting — are intended for educational and supportive purposes only and are not a substitute for medical care provided by a licensed physician or healthcare professional.

In the state of Maryland, craniosacral therapy is recognized as an energy-based modality that does not require licensure. I am a Registered Craniosacral Therapist through the Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy Association of North America (BCTA-NA) and maintain my right to practice under this credential. While I am extensively trained in anatomy, physiology, functional nutrition, integrative labs, and nervous system regulation, I am specifically, and thankfully not a licensed medical practitioner.

I intentionally practice outside the Western industrial medical model to offer a different lens on health — one that honors the body’s innate intelligence and capacity to heal, rather than prioritizing pharmaceutical intervention. My work approaches healing from a different paradigm — one that works in parallel with, but not subordinate to, conventional medicine.

When appropriate, I may recommend and facilitate functional lab testing such as DUTCH hormone mapping, GI-MAP gut microbiome analysis, genetic reports, food sensitivity panels, and more. These tests are processed through practitioner-only systems under the signature of a collaborating medical provider, allowing you transparent access to your own health data — without unnecessary gatekeeping.

You are encouraged to consult your chosen licensed healthcare provider for any medical concerns, diagnoses, or treatments.

For those interested in why I choose to practice beyond traditional licensure frameworks, read my blog post [When Did Healing Become a Business?] — exploring how modern healthcare became profit-centered, and why true wellness often begins beyond its walls.
