If you’ve found your way here, you’ve probably been carrying more than anyone realizes.
The symptoms.
The exhaustion.
The trying to hold your family together.
The instinct that something deeper is going on—but no one has helped you name it or understand it.
Maybe you’ve been told “your labs look fine.”
Maybe you’ve been given pills instead of answers.
Maybe you’ve been trying to heal piece by piece—therapy over here, nutrition advice over there, physical symptoms ignored, emotional symptoms minimized.
But your body is one interconnected system.
And when one part struggles, the whole contributes.
Here, we look at all of you—your nervous system, your biochemistry, your patterns, your trauma, your relationships, your energy, your cycles, your digestion, your overwhelm.
Because you deserve healing that finally sees the whole picture.
Your body holds the wisdom. I help you listen.
It’s frustrating when you know something is wrong but doctors dismiss your symptoms or offer band-aids instead of answers. I’ve been there, too — doing everything “right,” still feeling unlike myself, and being told advice by people who weren’t living healthy lives themselves.
What finally changed my health wasn’t another pill or diet. It was understanding how my hormones, nervous system, trauma patterns, and biochemistry were all connected — and learning how to work with my body instead of fighting it.
That’s the perspective I bring to my work. I’ve walked this path, I’ve helped hundreds of others do the same, and I know how to guide you back to feeling like you again.
The way we work is very different from the conventional medical model. We don’t rush appointments, reduce you to symptoms, or hand out generic advice. Our approach is relational, integrative, and rooted in understanding your whole nervous system and story.
This practice is designed for people who are frustrated with mainstream care — people who know something is off but haven’t been given answers, clarity, or real support. If you want a practitioner who listens deeply and partners with you in the process, you’re in the right place.
We intentionally work with a smaller number of clients so we can offer longer sessions, continuity, and the level of attention true healing requires. Your story matters here, and we take the time needed to honor it.
Charm City Craniosacral and Julie Pokorny do not diagnose, treat, or prescribe for any medical condition or disease. Services offered — including craniosacral therapy, somatic work, integrative health coaching, and lactation consulting — are intended for educational and supportive purposes only and are not a substitute for medical care provided by a licensed physician or healthcare professional.
In the state of Maryland, craniosacral therapy is recognized as an energy-based modality that does not require licensure. I am a Registered Craniosacral Therapist through the Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy Association of North America (BCTA-NA) and maintain my right to practice under this credential. While I am extensively trained in anatomy, physiology, functional nutrition, integrative labs, and nervous system regulation, I am specifically, and thankfully not a licensed medical practitioner.
I intentionally practice outside the Western industrial medical model to offer a different lens on health — one that honors the body’s innate intelligence and capacity to heal, rather than prioritizing pharmaceutical intervention. My work approaches healing from a different paradigm — one that works in parallel with, but not subordinate to, conventional medicine.
When appropriate, I may recommend and facilitate functional lab testing such as DUTCH hormone mapping, GI-MAP gut microbiome analysis, genetic reports, food sensitivity panels, and more. These tests are processed through practitioner-only systems under the signature of a collaborating medical provider, allowing you transparent access to your own health data — without unnecessary gatekeeping.
You are encouraged to consult your chosen licensed healthcare provider for any medical concerns, diagnoses, or treatments.
